Default how much are *your* pants worth?

As far as I'm concerned, mine aren't worth $67M. Not in dollars, rubles, or yen.

Perhaps in Euros, because Euro has a nice ring to it.

But that is neither here nor there. This fellow reckons his pants are worth....

Oh good, I'm sure glad this kook got his lawsuit rejected. Here's hoping he himself gets de-barred and sued for all he's worth (which doesn't seem like much).

I think the dry cleaners should sue for mental anguish. It's only poetic justice.

Very disturbing that someone trusted to serve justice would do something like that. If it had been him on the bench, would he have judged against the defendant instead?

The good news is.. at least for the time being.. this guy is not actually overseeing any cases.. he is doing "administrative" work..

People like this are what gives the court system in the US such a bad name.

To answer Sputt's question: Yes, judges like that are on the bench, and make equally crazy rulings all the time (and I have to deal with them).

I'm really glad this went against this guy. He's a loon and IMO should be deported to a country of his choice. I don't care if he's an American. These folks immigrated here and are trying to live the American dream. This jerk has a bit of an issue (they DID misplace his pants) and then sues them. Not for a couple hundred bucks, but millions! One of his fees included the cost of a rental car to drive to a different dry cleaners to have his pants cleaned...for a period of two years. WTF? These folks were so upset over this, they came very close to giving up and going back to their country.

Anyway, it's folks like this that give our legal system a bad name. Glad he lost.

I really hope the dry cleaners get reimbused and compensated for all that they have gone through. This is totally ridiculous and I really am infuriated by this. Heck, they even offered $12k to settle and he didn't take it. That's crazy.

The judgement found for the plaintiff, and Pearson must pay their legal fees as well. This is as bad as the coffee thing at McDonald's. . . glad this one landed on the side of sanity.
