[WoW] Friendly Neighborhood Warning. Re: Hacks
Just wanted to remind folks to do their best at securing your private information with regards to WoW. *heh*
Anywho, lately, some "official" notices from "Blizzard" have been escaping my gmail spam filter lately. Nowadays, I check the details from the sender to confirm whether or not the email came from a hotmail server or not. My spam filter has been quite vigilant about this nonsense until very recently. As a precaution, I'm finally going to pick up an authenticator soon. We've had one of our own suffer from a recent hack and is now recovering from it. Please do your best to protect yourself from hacks. Try your best to filter out spam and avoid phishing scams that pop up in game and in your personal email inbox. |
So I hear it was Crank, is he getting back on course?
Anyways Mal, you won't be learning my name :D they've removed the RealID from the Forums. And now for the real subject. I find that any address with the word "admin" in it is fake, and can be deleted. As for others, look for spelling/grammar mistakes. If there is one or more mistakes, the email is fake. And be absolutely positive to check the URL of links before clicking on them! What the link may say in the email may not be where you will be going! |
Ya, I just read that! I'm glad they listened especially after a Blizzard employee had to shut down his facebook page when too much personal information became available.
